An exploration and discovery of the qualities of wool in its alternate states of being, combined with Australia’s inspirational surroundings; both actual and man-made. Wool’s ability to be manipulated from light weight, soft fibre and then to be spun into the warmest, heaviest coating became the catalyst to the final garment design. The sheer, needle felted jumper is inspired by the endlest, sandy coastlines of Australia, the sheer floating dress of summer and the light pull of the sea breeze. The woven wool shorts draw their structured nature from the iconic arcs of the Sydney Opera House. These designs hope to display the beauty in Australia’s contrasting environments through manipulating the extensive qualities of wool.”
